Livestreamers may now publish and manage their own fundraising on Streamlabs, a leading provider of livestreaming tools, which announces the launch of its own native fundraising platform today.

Using the Streamlabs platform for raising funds, livestreamers may now fully produce a charity stream on one platform without the need to rely on additional integrations or tools.

Unlike other platforms that can take a cut starting at 5% or higher out of every donation, Streamlabs will not impose any additional charges. Excluding the standard PayPal processing fee, charities receive 100% of the contribution.

To make this happen, Streamlabs is working with several high profile charities including Arbor Day Foundation, the charity organization behind the #TeamTrees movement. Other charities include Feeding America, World Vision, Make-A-Wish, Americares, Red Cross, Special Olympics, Direct Relief, and American Heart Association.

Streamlabs’ partnership and unique charitable structure allows every dollar donated through #TeamTrees to go directly towards tree planting,” said Dan Lambe, president of the Arbor Day Foundation. “We are thankful to be able to be a part of their launch and look forward to more collaborations in the future.”

Livestreamers who want to begin their own charity stream can do so with very little effort. They need only log into their Streamlabs account, navigate to the charity portal, and browse active campaigns.

When a livestreamer’s scheduled charity stream begins, their donation link will automatically redirect to the charities tip page. This means that no action needs be taken by the streamer for the charity tips to go into effect — no more setting up bot links, editing pages, or making sure that viewers to to the correct place.

“During this holiday season, the American Red Cross is grateful for corporate donors that generously contribute to our Holiday Campaign,” said a spokesperson from the Red Cross. “Thanks to the generosity of these supporters, the Red Cross is able to bring help and hope to people across the country. Special thanks to Streamlabs for helping us enable streamers to raise donations during the holiday season.”

Gaming philanthropy has been increasing almost exponentially with Twitch livestreamers drawing in their audiences to donate. According to The Guardian, Twitch estimates that between 2012 and 2017, more than $75 million was raised on its platform alone.

“The impact is big and getting bigger,” said Jeremy Wells, fundraising events manager for Médecins Sans Frontières, a popular partner for charity streams. “Summer Games Done Quick is our biggest fundraiser of the year – it brought in $2.1m last year out of $4.7 million for our whole events program.”

Although Streamlabs does not currently partner with Médecins Sans Frontières, also known as Doctors Without Borders, the service does plan to add more charities in 2020. So tune into a Streamlabs-enabled charity stream and stay tuned to the news to hear about more.

The Streamlabs fundraising platform is now in effect for select charities. Streamers interested in participating can now log into their accounts and schedule streams.
