The additional patrols include skirmishes with the Voth and Vadwuaar.

As part of Star Trek Online‘s Season 18 “Awakening” release, Cryptic Studios changed the way that patrols worked by adding them to the same launcher for PvE Task Force Operations and events.

Now that players have gotten used to the new patrol system, three more patrols in the Delta Quadrant are being added: “Tempting Targets” from the Kinbar system patrol, “Aftermath” from the Nassordin system patrol, and “Blockade Runner” from the Zahl system patrol.

In “Tempting Targets,” captains will find themselves protecting a Hierarchy trading outpost alongside the Voth. This is an escort-and-sweep patrol mission to secure this Delta Alliance trade hub in the system.

The Nassordin system, in the “Aftermath” patrol, has become a the source of a distress call from Co-operative borg who have had their ships damaged during a Voth attack. Captain’s arriving in system must be prepared to fight off Voth picket ships and defend Co-operative vessels.

The Zahl homeworld is host to a Krenim colony on the surface of one of its moons. In “Blockade Runner,” captains will be called upon to defend this colony from Vaadwaur attack. The cruel space-faring warriors have set up artillery to bombard refugee ships escaping from the colony. The Voth have also persued the Vaadwuar to this system and are indiscriminate in targets, so captains will find themselves in the midst of a three-way battle.

Older patrols still exist in sector space, such as Japori and similar used by older veterans to test ship builds and load-outs. However, it is no longer necessary to fly through sector space to find a patrol — they are part of the PvE launcher.
