Square Enix is bringing out all the stops for a remaster of the 1999 RPG Chrono Cross with the upcoming release of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. It will include a large number of quality-of-life changes including the ability to skip battles and a spectacular new soundtrack.

This remastered edition is a multiplatform game that will be available digitally for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PCs via Steam.

Chrono Cross is probably one of the most iconic and epic JRPGs ever to hit consoles before the turn of the century and is remembered by many gamers are pivotal to their gaming experience.

The game is a story about Serge, who discovers himself pulled into an alternate dimension where he died as a child. As he works to discover why the two worlds diverged in their histories, he makes friends and works through an overlapping storyline that shifts not just between the dimensions, but across time itself. The game has over 40 potential party members and every character has unique skills that can change how the game is played.

In addition to Chrono Cross, the game is bundled with Radical Dreamers, a text-based adventure game released for Stellaview in 1996, which tells the beginning of the story.

The additional features included in this remaster include 3D models converted into stunning HD, brand new artwork for characters, refined background music, auto-battle functionality, and language localization (French, Italian, German, and Spanish).
