Chinese esports organization LGD Gaming announced today a partnership with livestreaming agency Big Goose Culture to purchase a slot in the King Glory League.

According to a report from The Esports Observer, the partners acquired the King Pro League team Hope and will invest $11.6 million — or approximately ¥80 million — to build the team.

The King Pro League is Chinese multinational gaming conglomerate Tencent’s esports competition. The new team will be part of the KPL’s Honor of Kings division and will play under the name LGDAE and will sport a logo featuring a goose.

“We have strong esports knowledge and commercial capability, and BGoose has excellent capability of marketing players to become stars,” said Jie “Ruru” Pan, founder and CEO of LGD Gaming. “We believe this partnership can achieve a diversified esports business model.”

LGD Gaming was founded in 2009 and picked up a League of Legends in 2012. The company has also made some fame in the DOTA 2 competitive scene and sponsors several other teams.
