Final Fantasy XIV Online just completed its most epic expansion yet, Endwalker, which concluded the story of Hydaelyn and Zodiark and now players are waiting for more story content. In order to prepare the fanbase for the next steps, Producer Naoki Yoshida shared details about Patch 6.1 called “Newfound Adventure” coming in mid-April.

New main scenario quests will start rolling out, beginning a few months after the last part of Endwalker and thrusting players into a continuation of the story. There will also be a set of new sidequests, featuring the adorable (and terrifying) Tataru Taru in “Tataru’s Grand Endeavor.”

An additional story will also become available after completing the entirety of role quests in Endwalker.

As for housing, the plots in the Ishgardian revitalized residential district will become available for purchase. The new area is known as the Empyreum and is inspired by the Coerthas Firmament, a residential ward that was destroyed during the Dragonsong War. This will include a new lottery system for house buyers, updating the current system, revealed by Yoshida during the 67th Letter from the Producer.

With the patch, there will also be an unnamed new dungeon – details yet to be announced – a new trial named “The Endsinger’s Aria,” and a new 24-player Alliance raid “Myths of the Realm #1.”

For players interested in style, there will be new Hrothgar hairstyles for “catdad” lovers, more glamor plates, and the ability to try on items from the online store.

Additionally, this will begin implementation of the Duty Support system, which will add the existing Trust system to A Realm Reborn dungeons, mentioned in the previous Letter to the Producer. This will make 4-player dungeons easier for solo players to complete, by allowing them to run them with AI-controlled NPCs.

The same patch is going to be breaking up Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium into 4-player dungeons to make them much more surmountable – no more massive waits and long runs to get through them. They will still be part of the Main Story Quest roulette, but they’ll also have different rewards to match the changes.

Future 6.1x patches will continue to add even more story content and more challenges for players. Such as a new Hildebrand quest with “Somehow Further Hildebrand Adventures” in Patch 6.15 and “Omega: Beyond the Rift” that will help bridge the Omega raid series into Endwalker content. There will also be new beast tribe quests with the Arkasodara tribe for battle classes.
