In an unexpected turn of following a trend in gaming, Fiesta Online, an MMORPG published by Gamigo AG, announced this week that the game will be getting a Battle Royale game mode called Onslaught.

The feature comes through a newly added Kingdom Quest and will thrust players into a game mode featuring an arena where players will fight each other in player-vs-player battles to the death.

Unique rewards await the victors of the Battle Royale, including the Runic Aura, which cloaks the players in a mesmerizing golden light. A dedicated leaderboard will display the mightiest adventurers of Fiesta Online for everyone to see. Only one player will emerge victorious from the vicious fighting on the battlefield. To make this quest for power even more challenging, a dome will continuously close in on the players, dealing massive damage to the ones who find themselves outside of its protection. Special buffs and Battle Hammers will aid the players in their fighting.

Battle Royale game modes have existed since 2012 – and potentially earlier – but they quickly became popularized in recent years by the introduction of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and catapulted into viral popularity by Fortnite.

SuperData Research reported in 2018 that the three top-grossing battle royale games (Fortnite, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4) raised almost $4 billion in combined revenue.

Fiesta Online has added a brand new map for this game mode that players will be thrust into for this bloodthristy competition.

The Battle Royale Mode is already available as of a patch published on Oct. 8 and more information is available on the game’s official website.
