Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout sold over 7 million units in less than three weeks on Steam, the digital distribution platform run by Valve Corp., according to data presented by Safebettingsites.com, and it is fast becoming one of the most popular games on the streaming website Twitch.
Developed by Mediatonic, the game Fall Guys is available for download for free on PlayStation Plus or for various prices (depending on region) on Steam.
Launched on August 4, 2020, Fall Guys, is a cutesy battle-royale player vs. player game that presents players with variant game modes that pit players against one another be the last man — or thing — standing. Although not all of the modes involve a form of combat, all of them do mean someone will lose and someone will win.
Fall Guys comes in with 7.6% of the share of all hours watched, second only to League of Legends with 9% of total hours watched on Twitch. And 713,200 hours peak viewers, second only to the highest viewers which goes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with 952,000 peak viewers. Fall Guys falls to third behind Call of Duty and Fortnite when it comes to the number of streamers, and down to fifth place behind Fortnite, Call of Duty, League of Legends, and VALORANT for average number of channels.
Sony also announced that the game has set a record for the most downloaded Playstation Plus game of all time.
The game’s appeal has made it one of the most popular among those who like watching the game as those who want to play.
During August, the game has not only been gathering support from players — but with audiences as well — making it, in a way a gladiator esport.
