Welcome to Crash To Desktop, where I get a chance to talk about whatever my invisible masters tell me to say. My name is Nelson Williams, thank you for stopping by. While you’re here, why not sign up with our Twitter feed? I’ll know if you don’t.
Tonight, I’d like to take a moment of your time to discuss an issue that affects all of us as gamers. A scourge, in truth, a contagious plague that leaps out to strike down the hale and the innocent without regard. As our gaming becomes more social, more interconnected, the disease will only grow greater in scope. Yes, friends, I speak of one thing; console tards.
You’ve met them. Although their kind breeds in the dank pits …
Most companies are a little quicker on making their movie tie-in games, but hey, it’s only been twenty-five years, right? Ghostbusters: The Video Game hits store shelves today, which comes as something of a relief to us here at Vox. You see, we’re ancient and crumbling figures, shambling mockeries of life that were old enough to see the film, the first film even, when it came out. In theatres, not on DVD. With our own money. From our jobs. Yes, just like the ones your parents have. And, being gamers, we grabbed up the games made off those films.
They sucked. All sucked. Sucked hard.
So maybe it’s been a mere twenty years, but now the time draws nigh for us to finally claim what never was; a Ghostbuster’s game that isn’t made of fail and crap.
Here’s the trailer.

On this historic election day, it’s vital to ask yourself the important questions; does your candidate believe in his own justice? Can he, as President of the United States, fight oppression in the streets with a giant battle mecha? Is he partnered with a Vice President who’s more evil than Hitler and Satan’s love child?
These are the questions posed by the Xbox game Metal Wolf Chaos. In this mecha shooter, the Vice President Richard Hawk stages a coup that takes over the United States, locking the nation in martial law and fascist oppression. The only hope to free America is Michael Wilson, the President. Donning a suit of power armor, President Wilson bursts out from the White House to take back the nation, city by city.
Gamewise, Metal Wolf Chaos is a typical mecha game, involving lots of jumping around, shooting bad guys, and …

Although the Nintendo Wii continues to outsell Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360, things are looking up for the other two video game console makers.
The MS Xbox 360 continues to outsell the PS3 for the ninth month in a row, but Sony’s apparently not worried. Early in July Sony announced a price drop for the PlayStation 3 and has since seen a 61-percent increase in the number of units sold. Q4 may show stronger sales for all consoles as titles such as Lair (PS3), Halo 3 (Xbox 360) and Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) coming out for the holiday buying season.
