What can we say? Your professor is a cow. Moolinda Wu heads up Life studies in Wizard City and she brings her teachings to her students in all her maternal glory. Life wizardry is all about the connection between all things, a couple friendly forest creatures, and a lot of healing. One of the strange boons of the Life school is the ability to use self-only healing spells on teammates—this particular effect has saved our beef in duels more than once.

What we are referring to is the Pixie card—an early 2-pip duel spell that heals four-hundred (400) hit points at a whack. It’s only issue: the spell can only be cast on self; unless you happen to be a Life wizard. This particularity means that once a Life wizard has picked up this particular card they can sling it about as an all-purpose save-my-friends-from-certain-doom spell.

The Life school also boasts a variety of protection spells, and interesting buffs, like the mid-level Sanctuary spell which gives +50% to all healing spells. Something that will probably come in handy during miniboss and boss duels of attrition where the two sides are defending against heavy handed assaults while trying to gain the time to bring in their own artillery.

A Life wizard on the team is a must for any drawn out encounter.

As for attack spells, they have their fair share just like everyone else. But the funniest one of all happens to be the Leprechaun. A pot of gold arrives on scene and produces a rainbow, down which scampers a very tiny fellow wearing green. He leaps into the gold, splashing it everywhere—all the while speaking gibberish—and then he offers the gold coins to the target, at ballistic speed. He actually does some vicious damage.

With an array of attacks, some shields, and healing, the Life school is a well-rounded offer. They don’t do a lot of outgoing damage but sheer support will keep a group running for quite a while. It pairs well with other support schools for team work and also well with heavy damage output schools for solo play.

Really, though, we voces play out Life wizard primarily to make friends.
