Sponsors of SOPA are Empty Hollywood Puppets, and Here are the Numbers to Prove It

Posted by | December 22, 2011

SOPA is the Stop Online Piracy Act, a bill clawing its way up from Hell through the bowels of Congress. The deal about SOPA is that it will essentially allow big media corporations to control the internet by shutting down any website or business they don’t like. If SOPA passes, it will destroy the internet. As it turns out, SOPA is being sponsored and championed by specific members of Congress. Since the start of the 2010 election cycle, these sponsors have raked in over 1.9 million human dollars in contributions from Hollywood and big media corps. Have a look at this article with the numbers. Oh, and happy holidays. MapLight has the story.

The internet is the most powerful and important invention in human history. The copyright cartel is eager to carve it up and stamp out everything that doesn’t send them tribute. Perhaps we should do something about limiting the power of these corps and their minions.
