New Game, New Bans — Star Wars: The Old Republic Edition

Posted by | January 2, 2012

There’s an email floating around through the internet like a diseased red tide, and it brings promise of a most ridiculous banning in BioWare’s new MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. The mail claims that a character was banned for grabbing loot in a high-level area, without being high-level himself. Of course, like most things on the internet, it’s probably a terrible lie. Rock, Paper, Shotgun has the story.

BioWare has been, shall we say, less than professional regarding public relations, and this is their first MMORPG, so who knows how they really handle such things. Still, MMO drama is good times from the outside, so I’m holding out hope BioWare will handle their players with the fairness and maturity we’ve seen regarding their other games.

    This does seem fairly unlikely.

Nope, looks like they were real! Just … unexpected.
