Diablo III Online-Only DRM Scheme Real Money Auction House Ploy?

With all the fanfare and anger volcanoes erupting around the launch of Diablo III, and Blizzard’s subsequent and necessary apology for the failure of their servers, perhaps fighting piracy is only part of their strategy with the online-play only. Although this game is traditionally enabled people to play the storyline single player (and solo is a way many people will go Internet or no) that also means people can hook into the “real money trade” auction house. Could it be that Blizzard wants to make sure that every player, in every game, is a click away from the Real Money Auction House at all times? No, they wouldn’t sacrifice the playability of a flagship game just to tie a digital store as a millstone around the necks of players, would they?
