City of Heroes Optioned For the Silver Screen

Posted by Nelson Williams (Who am I?) | June 10, 2007

Variety magazine reports on yet another sprint in the race to the bottom of culture’s barrel. Producer Tom DeSanto has secured the rights to a City of Heroes movie in what is likely to be the very far future. Rumours of a television adaptation based around this possible movie are also flickering in the darkness, much like will-o-wisps that seek to lure men to their doom.

For the morbidly curious amongst us, the story can be found here.

Myself, I wonder just how much potential there is in a movie about a bikini-clad angel and her quest to make it big in the harsh world of Atlas Park costume contests.

I think “bikini-clad angel” says it all. Yay for B-movie kitsch. I think if they made Bruce Campbell the director, I’d be in line.

    No auras please!

A cameo of an Atlas Park costume contest would be absolutely hilarious. If there is a movie or a TV show, I really hope that they at least obliquely keep some of the in-game humor. Even if it just Kill Skulz graffiti.
