A Review of Xenoblade Chronicles

Posted by | April 11, 2012

Xenoblade Chronicles represents a return, if not a resurrection, for JRPGs in the western market. While a part of the venerable and bizarre “Xeno” series, it doesn’t share the baggage of its predecessors. Xenoblade Chronicles also shows off some new tricks learned from its western counterparts. Does it work? Check out this review. VentureBeat has the story.

Xenoblade Chronicles will be something of a signal to developers. If it flies off shelves, expect to see more JRPGs crossing the cultural borders. A failure here might see the whole idea of JRPGs go down in flames before the mighty boot of Fallout and Skyrim.
