Warhammer Online: Free Character and Guild Transfers!

Get your guild off that dying server and on to a new, fresh server full of promise and life for you to slowly snuff out. Mythic has announced free character transfers and guild transfers, which should help even out the high-level population just a bit.

Warhammer Online Fortress Updates Hit Live Server

The big draw of Warhammer Online has always been epic battles around keeps, fortresses, and castles, but the damning truth of packing a small area full of players is that modern servers just can’t keep up. Flames and terror are the usual result, not in the game but inside the server room. This makes for unhappy players in that special way only staring at a login screen after the game explodes can.

To salvage what they can after being brought low by the limitations of hardware, the folks at Mythic have made a few changes to the way these massive sieges work. The big deal in all this is a hard cap on the number of players, but what’s really interesting is how this cap is enforced. Warhammer Online Offers a 30-Day Bounty for New Players

Despite a certain amount of grumbling in the ranks of the hardcore who shot to the end of the game in about 13.6 minutes, Warhammer Online has been doing rather well for itself in the MMORPG market. A good launch, decent player retention, and a niche apart from World of Warcraft have given Warhammer Online the hot player injection it’ll need to stay competitive against the cold and unrelenting might of the Lich King.
