This bill is evil, and must be defeated. I cannot state the truth of this matter in stronger terms without using profanity and quoting scenes from The Exorcist. Oh, and incidentally, the US Chamber of Commerce isn’t a government agency. It’s a union. For corporations. That they use to fund and coordinate efforts to break unions for people. They’re one of the reasons why you don’t have health care and can’t get a job. Just saying. Get educated on the PROTECT IP Act, Game Politics has the story.
The basic breakdown here is that the PROTECT IP Act allows corporations to declare that a given website is “infringing” on intellectual property, and then ban that website from the US internet. What counts as infringing? Hey, who knows? How does a banned site fight a false accusation? They can’t!
