The War is Not Over, SOPA Will Return

Posted by | April 10, 2012

The Stop Online Piracy Act was a bill which would hand control of the internet over to the big media companies and kill everything they couldn’t control. It was defeated by a popular internet revolt. However, the forces behind SOPA know exactly what they’re doing, and will be back for round 2. Here’s an article about what tactics they’ll use, and what we can do to fight back. Game Politics has the story.

The big media companies will never stop, because they’re all about control. As guardians of the gate, they hate people being able to create and share without giving them a cut. We need to identify those in power who have pledged their fealty to big media, and vote them out into the streets.

    Salt and burn the bones…

If necessary, we should probably also make a laughingstock out of politicians and lobbyists who attempt to forward this. No doubt, the culture of 4chan and Anonymous will help with that.

People who suggest things like SOPA don’t deserve to be part of our government — they barely deserve to be part of our culture.
