Now, I fought on the Nintendo side of the great console wars, so this whole Sonic thing is a little lost on me. What I hear from the field is that the Sonic franchise more or less peaked with Sonic 2, then went downhill in a seriously ugly car-wrecky sort of way. Sega just lost sight of what made the Sonic games great. So now Sonic Generations comes out, and suddenly, people are talking. I hear, in the distance, a song.
