So Where Does It Fit in the Timeline? Legend of Zelda Symphony Concert

Posted by | March 25, 2012

The Legend of Zelda is one of the most successful game series ever, and one of the many reasons is the power and charm of its music. An orchestral performance, Symphony of the Goddesses, aims to bring that music to life for audiences outside the game. The full symphony performance will be arranged to follow the Zelda timeline, such as it is. This is the latest example of how video game music is crossing cultural barriers and becoming… music. The Seattle Times has the story.

Good video game music endures. For most of us, game music is the background for our lives, our youth. It stays with us. Concerts like this show the power of video game and how it can break down the barriers of culture. We’re invading the lands of classical music, and rebuilding arts and culture in our own image.
