Remembering the Game in Video Games

Story, plot, drama, character, cinematics… All these are nice, sure. At the end of the day, you didn’t throw a movie into your console or PC, you fired up a game. The first concern of any game should be gameplay. Interaction. Discovering and overcoming challenges. Having fun. Are games these days forgetting to be, well, games? Gameinformer has the story.

    I was playing Final Fantasy X, when it hit me. I wasn’t playing a game anymore. I was pressing a button to advance the plot. What button should I press to change my character’s personality?

    There wasn’t one. That button didn’t exist.
