Blizzard is being wishy washy about the rumors of Starcraft 2. Kotaku mentions that they have some quotes from Blizzard about their intent “to announce a new product at the Worldwide Invitational next month in Korea.” Which seems to interpret that they do intend to talk about Starcraft 2, but really they’re simply announcing a something at the WI event.

“So that’s a yes on a StarCraft 2, eventually, and a yes to a product announcement next month. The only question now is: are they one in the same.”

Kotaku

However, and a big however, looking over at World of War we found this juicy quote:

“On the 25th, according to the game developers, it has been confirmed that Blizzard Entertainment Korea (aka Blizzard Korea) will present VODs and game content at the WWI that is starting on May 19th. Also, StarCraft 2’s main developers will also attend to answer some questions.

It has been confirmed that StarCraft 2 is being developed in 3D, a new race has been added and existing units’ characteristics will have many changes. Additional details will only be revealed to certain parts of WWI.”

World of War

So, square one. We’ll definitely be hearing about the development of Starcraft 2 next month – and we’ll be hearing about some interesting new development by Blizzard.

Oh, May 19th what shall we do between now and then?

That’s right. I have a blood elf warlock to get to level 70…
