Minecraft 1.3.1 Update Goes Live, Changes Everything

Minecraft is an incredibly popular block building game that has swept the internet in its glory. Now, the iron hand of Minecraft will become even more powerful with the upgrades forged by the 1.3.1 patch. This update changes just about everything in the game. Of note, however, is the move toward local severs and LAN play, which all multiplayer games ever should have by default. Check out the patch notes in the article. Joystiq has the story.

    And Minecraft moves one step closer to becoming the Matrix. A blocky, blocky Matrix.

    This update is so sexy. If I ever thought minecraft would make me happy, now would be the time. Although the menus are a bit difficult to navigate now, this still induces a raging happy hat.

    The whole LAN capability is making Minecraft one of my favorite inventions of this decade.
