Let’s Talk Xbox, From Gaming to Media Center

It’s no secret that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console offers a host of media capabilities along with that old playing games thing it also does. When the Kinect added voice control the Xbox, the whole became something greater than the sum of its parts. Microsoft is looking to continue this trend by enhancing the media aspects of the Xbox, including a push to transform the game console into a multi-media entertainment center. This interview with Microsoft’s Phil Spencer reveals how the digital behemoth plans to cement its hold on the world’s living rooms. GamesIndustry has the story.

    Now all Microsoft needs is a portable tablet device that can talk to the Xbox and maybe stream games, voice, and video so you can access everything the Xbox offers from where ever you might be and they’d have a leash on you 24/7. Oh, they did? Hmmm…
