It’s a Game Engine for Building Entire Planets

A team of indie game developers is working on an engine designed to render an entire planet, from orbit to the surface, without any invisible walls or loading. The idea is to create a stage for other developers to set their games. It’s an interesting effort, and if they can pull it off, one that should help speed up game development by leaps and bounds.     So it’s like Dwarf Fortress, only in 3D, and without the inevitable doom.
