The champions of Mordremoth, the jungle dragon, have been rampaging across the living story of NCSoft’s Guild Wars 2 for months now and finally the end chapter of the current episodic series has been released. The content released on January 13th brings new events to the Silverwastes zone as well as a new episode for the living story that finishes the “Seeds of Truth” arc.
This leads into the heir-apparent new expansion “Heart of Thorns” teased at the end of the most recent episode.

The new content adds an interesting new boss known as the Vinewrath, or known to the population as the “Mordrem rose.” Seen in the trailer above, the Vinewrath is a giant flower that appeared in the Western Silverwastes and seems to be the origin of the vines that have been slowly crossing the zone. Players will need to attack it through three lanes, protecting specialized siege equipment to break through its walls, and finally engage its champion.
The newest episode of the living story also reveals interesting truths about the sylvari race. The newest playable race in Tyria and introduced in Guild Wars 2 these humanoid plant-people have spread across all of Tyria and represent the closest thing that GW2 has to elves. Their home, and mother, the Pale Tree is a giant sentient plant growing in the Maguuma Jungle region of the world.
In Seeds of Truth we learn a terrible secret about some of the first born of the Pale Tree (sylvari who emerged some 25 years ago) and one of the main characters of the GW2 story. Caithe, one of the first born sylvari, knows something about the Pale Tree, and by extension her children.
Below is a beautifully rendered cutscene revealed to players who finish the last episode. It ends with a teaser.
In the video, the Pact fleet sent to open warfare against the dragon Mordremoth get more than they bargain for. First, the dragons seems prepared for them and destroys the entire fleet; but secondly, the sylvari crew on board the fleet ships appear to turn traitor and sabotage the ships themselves and attack our heroes.
The entire video ends with an advertisement for an announcement coming at PAX South on January 24th.
