GameStop Tells Pre-Order Customers The Last Guardian has Been Canceled

Posted by | December 27, 2011

The Last Guardian is an upcoming game by Fumito Ueda, the guy who already gave us Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. It’s planned to be his last game with Sony, before he wings away for greener pastures. It is not canceled. Too bad GameStop thinks otherwise. Reports are coming in that the resell giant has been informing pre-order customers that The Last Guardian was canceled, leading to some wailing and gnashing of teeth among the community. Seriously, though, ask yourself. If a GameStop employee knew anything about anything, why would they be working at GameStop? They could get a better job, say, holding live scorpions in their mouth or letting a horse stomp on their head. GameSpot has the story.

The Last Guardian is still in development, Sony says. Which is good, but seeing it on store shelves before Christmas would have been better.
