Fixing Final Fantasy

The long-running Final Fantasy franchise is in trouble. Slumping sales and competition from western RPGs like Fallout and Elder Scrolls have left Final Fantasy as a shell of its former self. To be sure, that’s one hell of a shell, what with selling millions of copies and all, but the RPG crown no longer rests steady upon Final Fantasy’s head. What can be done to bring this fading franchise back into the spotlight? Here are a few ideas. Joystiq has the story.

    Oddly, “Make a better game that doesn’t go all weird” wasn’t on the list.
