Firemonkeys Merger Creates Australia’s Largest Game Studio

Australia isn’t know for its game development scene, what with restrictive laws, a weird rating system, being in entirely the wrong segmented artificial media company region for an english-speaking country, and buying games with a poor choice of currency which doubles their price. So when Australia throws together a serious game studio, it’s news. In this case, that studio is Firemonkeys, a merger of IronMonkey and Firemint. They’re hiring. IGN has the story.

    Of course, they’re also owned by Electronic Arts, but you can’t have everything in your home-grown industry.
