Because the world needs more 4X games, Endless Space will be coming in early July. Endless Space is a turn-based space conquest game that harkens back to ye olde Master of Orion, just with the improvements that a decade or so of technological progress can bring. So far, reviews of the beta version are good, but only the final release version will soothe the questioning souls of strategy gamers. Rock, Paper, Shotgun has the story.
It’s good to see the 4X genre coming back into the light after the dark age in the wake of Master of Orion 3’s dismal failure. There’s a lot that can be done with this type of game. Hopefully, Endless Space will succeed where others have left only darkness.
