Developers Claim Wii U Lacks Horsepower

Posted by | April 3, 2012

Nintendo’s Wii has always been the odd child out of the current console generation, mostly because its weak engine can’t produce the graphical horsepower of its competition. Now, it appears the Wii U will suffer the same problem, as developers claim the new system isn’t even as powerful as current-gen hardware. Will the new Wii U controller save the system? GamesIndustry has the story.

Most of the Wii U’s price tag seems to be going into the controller, which may or may not work for Nintendo. Still, if no one can port their next-gen, or even current-gen games to the Wii U, than the console is going to suffer for third-party developer support.
