Blizzard Hacked: North American Players Change Your Passwords!

Posted by | August 10, 2012

In what seems like an unexpected turn of events, Blizzard had their user database hacked into and some of the confidential user data exfiltrated—although Blizzard is quick to point out that financial information was not touched, so your credit cards are safe. What the hackers did get access to, however, happens to be e-mails, encrypted passwords, and the answers to security questions. As a result, it’s time for you to change your passwords people. This is a big one, and a real breach of security. Hackers are very organized these days, and trade every scrap of information they get. A small hack here, a bit of user info there, and they can piece it all together into a major break-in.

    Change your passwords!
