Nintendo’s flagship Mario games are known for many things, but one of the most iconic images from the sprawling, endless franchise is the coin block. That wonderful, glowing, riveted box that cashes out like a Vegas slot machine when you bump it. Check out this DIY project to make for real coin boxes that just happen to be lamps. They even go “ching” when you bump them. CNET has the story.
