Another Reason to Avoid the Movie Tie-In, it’s The Hunger Games

Posted by | April 12, 2012

The Hunger Games is a popular movie right now, which is pretty good for a flick where kids are thrown together and forced to kill each other. A little bit like Lord of the Flies on fast-forward. Since the movie is raking in so much cash, you know the video game can’t be far behind. Is this, though, a video game we want? While the themes of The Hunger Games might be worthwhile to consider, the action is mostly murdering teens who don’t deserve it. Check out this article about a The Hunger Games, er, game. Forbes has the story.

I see a sort of Gaia Online big-headed anime thing, where defeated characters fall down and wave a white flag, or disappear into pits and off cliffs. I also see the Fallout Murder Mob modding gory child death back into the game. So maybe it works out in the end.
