A Review of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition

Posted by | May 9, 2012

Minecraft is a defining game on the PC, in more ways than one. It shows what an indie developer can do with a little work and creativity. It also shows that creativity games, where players set their own goals, have a solid place in the market. Now, Minecraft moves to the Xbox 360, bringing with it a tutorial, a crafting menu instead of a crafting puzzle, and four-player splitscreen action. Will Minecraft 360 do for the console what it did for the PC? GamesRadar has the story.

The quality of life improvements are a really big thing. Minecraft was never user-friendly, especially for a new player. Of course, PC gamers are used to that sort of thing. Console players, not so much. It would be good to see the tutorial and crafting menu make their way back into the parent game on the PC.
